The project for the enhancement of the Castrum Novum archaeological site involves the restoration and valorization of some archaeological remains located in the municipality of Santa Marinella (Rm), near the coast, and the creation of an archaeological park made up of two distinct areas: Balneum (Area A) and Castrum Novum (Area B).

The entire park system develops through a series of pathways and panoramic terraces that serve as equipped areas along the visitor and pedestrian routes near the Via Aurelia. The constructed building is located within the main area of the park, a raised square approximately 1.5 meters above the Via Aurelia, from which visitors can enjoy views of the entire archaeological park on one side, while on the other side, the view of the coast stretching from Santa Marinella to Civitavecchia can be admired.

The service structure is characterized by a removable metal frame, enclosed by glass walls and externally covered with a system of horizontal wooden screens, perfectly integrating with the existing natural context. The architectural composition consists of two volumes assembled together, intersected by a cross-pedestrian pathway.

Inside, there are spaces for support activities for the site visit, such as an info point, a bookshop specializing in archaeology, restrooms, a café, and a large educational room where themed conferences can be held and virtual reconstructions of the sites can be projected.
